Innovation Franklin was fortunate to be selected as one of the charities involved in Z Energy’s annual Good in the Hood initiative, joining hundreds of charities across the country who applied for the opportunity to receive support.

We were one of four charities selected at Karaka Z, and it was a fantastic opportunity to be part of such a generous community initiative.

Good in the Hood supports local charities through participating Z Energy stations across New Zealand. Each station has a $5,000 fund to distribute among its selected charities. Customers receive a token when they fill up and can vote for the charity they would like to support. At the end of the initiative, the tokens are counted and the funding is distributed according to the votes each charity receives.

For us, Good in the Hood was about more than funding. It was an opportunity to connect with other organisations working hard to meet the needs of our community, learn more about the incredible work happening across the region, and introduce Innovation Franklin to people who may not have heard of us before.

It was humbling to hear about the many different needs within our community and the charities working tirelessly to support them. We were grateful to be included among these organisations and to have the opportunity to receive votes from people who wanted to support our work.

At the conclusion of the initiative for the South Auckland Z Energy group, the participating charities came together for a fantastic afternoon where the final funding amounts were announced.

Innovation Franklin received $695, along with $200 in Z Energy fuel vouchers!

This support will help us continue our work connecting our community with innovation, technology and opportunities to explore what the future might look like.
